Welcome back everyone to what is shaping up to be another very
busy year….
The biggest event so far has been the Pan Pac Cup Championships which were a great success both on and off the competition floor.
I’m sure you have seen all video footage and photos sent over the competition weekend and since, also some write ups from the athletes themselves are included in this newsletter. Here is one event that stands out for me each time I think of the Pan Pac competition – Aussie athlete- her first International competition, the first event of the competition, the first Australian to compete, (3rd athlete on the floor in her division) a fantastic NO DROP routine – Go Maddison Page from Sunny Coast QLD and this was not the only NO DROP routine of the day. The girls all looked wonderful in their Australian tracksuits as they marched in first at the Opening Ceremony, they had a great time at the athletes party winning prizes in the games and making friends with the athletes from the other countries. At the end of the competition every member of the Australian squad had received an award either in their individual, pairs, team or group event. I can’t put into words the pride I felt seeing them all up there on the podium.
The NSW committee have recently met to put together a plan for NSW for 2017, some great initiatives have come from this meeting which will communicated to you shortly.
Now, it’s down to hard work and business as usual for 2017- beginning with a TAS and Standard Solo clinic in March and the first qualifying competition hosted by Rising Starz in April.
Good luck everyone in these coming events.
