President’s Monthly Message
Hello Twirling Community,
It is a bit late in the year to wish you all a Happy New Year, so welcome to Twirling for 2016! I know it has already been a big start to the year for some of our athletes and coaches with the ABTA Camp in Queensland last month. Wow, I have heard fantastic feedback from everyone involved, so well done to the ABTA team, coaches and everyone involved. It really does set the year off well with many twirling friendships made across the states!
We have also enjoyed having Jean Michel Ruelle in Sydney. I cannot wait to see the new routines and tricks that he has choreographed whilst he was here and we had a great turnout to our NSW Clinic! Thank you to Catherine Pelle and Roz Stevens for the organisation and doing a quick venue change due to fire.
It is the time of year that we are all planning our year ahead and trying to work out how we are going to fit everything in to our busy lives so I thought I would remind you all of our Calender of events for 2016:
3rd April All Stars Mini Comp – Strut, Solo, 2 Baton, 3 Baton, TAS & Standard Solo
15th May Rizing Starz Comp – All Events
19th June Bexley Comp – All Events
24th July Rooty Hill Comp – All Events
10 & 11 September STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS – Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre
1 & 2 October NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre
We also have 2 very important vacancies in our NSW Committee so I would love to hear from you if you are interested. Please contact me if you would like to help in our Secretarial or Marketing roles. These roles are fun and creative. Many of our NSW meetings follow the competitions so our time management is better!
We are still on our path of growing our judges and coaches throughout the twirling community. The ABTA have re-structured some of their judging models to make it easier to become a judge, or you can just be an expert in one area of judging, for eg. TAS & Strut. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in this.
If you have any news you would like me to include in my monthly message, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Happy training and see you all at the first competition!
Thanks
Ainslie Hunt
