Twirling NSW COVID-19 Update

Dear Members,

The NSW Baton Twirling Association is continuing to assess the COVID-19 situation and it’s impacts on the 2020 competition year and have held an Executve meeting to discuss the possible options. You should have also received an email directly from the ABTA with their update on the situation.

As such, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel all local qualifying competitions for 2020.

In addition, the June Ready Scholarship will not be awarded for this year, and the State Team and Development Program will be postponed until further notice.

At this stage, our State Championship dates (12th & 13th September) and venue will remain booked for what we hope will be an open-entry State Competition or an alternative NSWBTA event, should the Government restrictions and advice allow us to do so. There will be more information to follow on this as the situation progresses and we will keep everyone updated. For the moment, please continue to save the date.

In the absence of competitions, and to keep our incredible community connected, we will be putting our NSWBTA Committee Members to work to create and share engaging activities, programs and videos designed to keep our athletes twirling at home. We encourage you to use technology to your advantage and continue training sessions with your own clubs in any way possible, if you are not already doing so.

We will also be reaching out to athletes and coaches to encourage them to complete their TAS, Standard Solo, Coaches and Judges courses, and will provide further information as it comes to hand.

The health and safety of our members is our priority during this time, so, again, we strongly advise you adhere to and follow all public health advice and Government restrictions.
